As price volatility continues, ICA Managing Director, Kai Hughes, used a trip to Vietnam and Turkmenistan to promote safe trading and the need for contract sanctity and to encourage key organisations to take a lead in regulating their members.

In Vietnam Kai was accompanied by Richard Pollard, ICA Rules Committee Chairman. They attended the opening of the Dai Cuong (Fortex) cotton mill and held meetings with the General Director of Vinatex and the Vietnamese Cotton & Spinning Association.
In Turkmenistan, at the first international Turkmen Cotton Conference, Kai delivered a key note address. Accompanied by Ex-President Ray Butler, he also held meetings with the Head of the Agriculture Policy Unit within Turkmenistan’s Cabinet of Ministers, with the chairmen of Turmkmenpagta (pictured left with Kai) and the State Commodities Exchange.
