This September, Alex Hsu (ICA President) and Bill Kingdon (ICA Managing Director) will make outreach visits to Pakistan and Bangladesh – the first visit possible to the regions since 2018.
The trip will be hosted and supported by Mohammed Ali Bashir, regional ICA director for Pakistan, and Shafiqul Sarker Sohel, regional ICA director for Bangladesh.
Speaking ahead of the trip, Bill said; “We are looking forward to strengthening our ties regionally and building relationships in these two important countries, both sharing significant ICA membership and major international roles in yarn and textile manufacturing. We look forward to learning at first-hand how current market conditions, logistic challenges and retail demand are affecting cotton buyers in the regions.”
In Bangladesh, the ICA will meet with the Bangladesh Textile Manufacturers Association, Bangladesh Cotton Association, and ICA members and future members in the region.
In Pakistan the ICA delegation will be meeting with representatives and members of the Karachi Cotton Association, All Pakistan Textile Manufactures Association (in both Lahore and Karachi) as well as spinners and agents from around Karachi and Lahore.
