It is with much sadness that we advise of the passing of Mr John Evans on Monday 18 December 2017. John is survived by his wife, Leila.
John was born on 10 August 1943 in Liverpool and went on to work in the cotton industry, initially with Ralli Brothers & Coney for many years (later to become Cargill Cotton) following which he became a Senior Cotton Classer with Wakefield Inspection Services until he retired.
John travelled the globe with his work and will be fondly remembered by many of our cotton community. During his time with WIS, John also spent many years in Central Asia and it was in Baku, Azerbaijan where he met his wife Leila.
He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
John’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 10 January 2018 at 11:00.
