The two-day programme for our upcoming Liverpool 2024 Trade Event (16-17 October) in Liverpool, UK is now confirmed.
This year’s programme focuses on hot topics for the cotton industry, with a strong line up of keynote speakers and ‘Cotton Connected’ sessions.
Liverpool 2024 will open with a panel session moderated by Bill Ballenden (Louis Dreyfus Company) addressing the current legislative environment, how it might affect the cotton supply chain and how we might influence it as a cotton community. Panelists include Eva Bille (Hill & Knowlton), Elisabeth van Delden (Make the Label Count) and Eric Trachtenberg (International Cotton Advisory Committee).
Speaking of the session, Bill said; “The session will aim to highlight key legislative frameworks that are either in place or in the pipeline. The panel will look at specific cases, discuss how these might be enforced and how this could affect the demand for cotton within the textile industry.”
Colin Iles (Viterra) will present a keynote session examining cotton market trends and Arvind Singhal (Technopak Advisors) will deliver a keynote on the changes affecting the world of textiles and clothing.
The event will include a panel session on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the cotton industry featuring Macrovesta’s Oliver Jobling and Joseph Maliszewski.
There will also be a series of Cotton Connected sessions throughout the programme. These focused, information sessions will focus on arbitration and various key cotton regions, delivered by a range of industry representatives including the ICA’s Women in Cotton Committee.
Speaking ahead of the event, ICA President, Kim Hanna said; “There are a lot of important topics we need to discuss as a community which are reflected in this year’s event programme. I am really looking forward to welcoming old and new friends at Liverpool 2024 so we can strengthen the cotton industry together.”
Liverpool 2024 will conclude with a spectacular Gala Dinner on 17 October taking place in the Great Hall of St George’s Hall. Conference sessions will be held in the Crowne Plaza Liverpool. With 500+ international delegates expected to attend, places are selling quickly.
