ICA launches new podcast: The Thing About Cotton

We are excited to announce we have launched a new podcast this month to explore the cotton value chain with an emphasis on highlighting female leaders and their achievements.

Join hosts and their guests as they explore the anatomy of the cotton value chain and bring awareness to the industry through highlighting female leaders and achievement. The first two episodes are now available.

Episode 1 features Kim Hanna, ICA President as she explains the history of the ICA and how the cotton industry is structured.

Speaking of the new podcast, Kim said; “I am honoured to be the first guest on The Thing About Cotton podcast. Led by the Women in Cotton Committee, I am confident this initiative has huge potential to communicate the positive story of cotton, explaining the complex value chain all while providing a platform for women in the industry to have their voice heard. I urge those in the industry or those interested in it, to listen and engage.”

Episode 2 features Eva Bille (EU Policy Director, Hill & Knowlton Brussels) as she discusses EU legislation and its impact on the global value chain, the concern that PEF regulation would favour manmade fiber over cotton and much more. Speaking of her episode, Eva says; “I feel it is important to have these conversations now so that the cotton supply chain can fully understand this new legislation and the potential impact it may have”.

The podcast features hosts from the ICA’s Women in Cotton (WiC) Committee including Camille Cluzel (Louis Dreyfus Company), Eimear McDonagh (AgriDirect) and Katie Farren (Cargill Cotton).

Episodes will be released every few weeks and available on all major podcasting platforms including Spotify, Google and Apple Podcasts. To subscribe, simple search for ‘The Thing About Cotton’ in your podcast platform of choice.
