Connecting with India

Alex Hsu (ICA President) and Bill Kingdon (ICA Managing Director) made a trip to India earlier this month where they met with Azeez Syed (Immediate Past President) and Mohit Shah (ICA Director) to connect with the Indian cotton community and ICA members. During their trip they also met with the Textile Commissioner, Cotton Corporation of India, the Cotton Association of India (CAI), the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, Northern India Textile Manufacturers Association, and many others.

The Presidents of ICA and CAI renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two associations and had positive and productive engagements in both Mumbai and Delhi.

Speaking of the trip, Bill Kingdon said; “This was the first outreach visit by ICA since the pandemic. And our first for more than 30 months.  It was appropriate to first visit India, the largest cotton-producing region and to invest in the important professional relationships and friendships here.  We are delighted to have met so many organisations that are important to the cotton value chain here, and to have renewed our MOU with the Cotton Association of India.  We share a commitment to protecting the legitimate interests of all those who trade cotton and to contract sanctity.  It was a full and positive regional visit.”
