Forty delegates from 27 different firms have successfully completed this year’s China Cotton Trade Training, which took place recently in Beijing – the nation’s capital and a major hub for cotton.
Delegate numbers were down this year (due to a decline in China cotton imports), but feedback was good. One delegate to benefit from the training was Ms FENG Yuying of Henan Tongzhou Cotton Trade Co Ltd: “The training was very thorough, covering complete stages of the import operation. In particular, it included the knowledge relating to the cotton yarn and its import procedure. All the presenters were very professional and gave a detailed description on the issues encountered in the practical operation.”
Jointly organised by the ICA and Beijing Cotton Outlook Consulting (BCO), the training is developed specifically for the Chinese cotton community. Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Dr Robert Jiang, ICA’s China Business Development Officer, said: “This year’s training was further improved in line with the changing market environment in China. A new module, covering yarn manufacturing and trading, was added in response to the requirement. The three days’ course was very intensive, the atmosphere was interactive, and the delegates enjoyed the challenges. I am pleased to see that both the delegates and the presenters appreciated such an opportunity to familiarise with key elements of the industry as well as build a social network, within such a short period of time.”
The three-day interactive course focused on areas currently impacting on China’s international cotton trade and the global cotton market. It included the following modules – each conducted in Chinese and delivered by a leading industry expert.
The next China Cotton Trade Training will take place in 2016. The date and venue are still to be confirmed, but you can add your name to the interested list using the link below.
