The Managing Director of the International Cotton Association, Mr Kai Hughes, will be leaving his post at the end of August to take up position as Executive Director of the International Cotton Advisory Committee, based in Washington DC.
Kai said “I am leaving the ICA after a wonderful almost-ten years. Ten years which has seen the organisation change and grow to be a truly international organisation representing its members worldwide. I am now looking forward to a new challenge and to making ICAC a force for change in the cotton industry. I have made many close friends during my time in the ICA and it is particularly pleasing for me that I am going to be able to continue old friendships and make new ones in my new position as part of our global cotton community.”
The ICA President, Mr Jürg Reinhart, states that “The ICA regrets losing Kai after so many years of valuable service, and we wish him every success in his new role. We hope that this will also be an opportunity for the ICA to develop even stronger relations with ICAC and to promote our message about contract sanctity amongst its member governments. The recruitment process for a new Managing Director has already started and the advertisement will also be on our website shortly.”
